Synopsis
It was supposed to be an
innocent night, celebrating my brother’s birthday. Nothing was supposed to go
wrong. We’d vowed to be on our best behavior after all . . . But it only took one rowdy night with
my brothers to flip my world upside down. One unlucky encounter saddled us
with a family curse and the promise of doomed relationships. I laughed it off
immediately. “Yeah, right,” I thought. “A love curse. Ha!” Boy, was I wrong. Word spreads quickly in a town like
mine; rumors about that night soon made us the most eligible yet untouchable
bachelors in Port Snow, Maine. As a subject of endless gossip and
speculation, I could kiss my dating life goodbye. It would have stayed that way if Ren
Winters, the new girl in town, hadn’t crashed into my life. Brave, beautiful,
and smart—her vivacious thirst for a fresh start has given me hope that
maybe, just maybe, I can have one too. Everyone wishes for that second chance
. . . but could this really be mine? |

Quote(s)
1.
Those who belittle and make others feel
worse will feel the ungodly wrath of my curse. … from this day on, your love
will be broken. It isn’t until your minds have matured that the weight of this
curse will forever be curved. 2.
So many memories were made on this
sand, some that have faded and some that have stuck to me like glue, shaping
me into the man I am today. 3.
Cupid hit my little brother with a
giant moose. Oh, this is so wonderful. 4.
“I don’t know if I should make a move
or not. He’s really nice and can hold a good conversation, but I’m nervous
that maybe he’s not interested in me. He could just be a nice guy, and do I really
want to ruin a friendship?” “First of all, if he’s not
interested in you, he’s an idiot. You’re the entire package, sweetie, and I’m
not just saying that because I’m your mom. And secondly, maybe just take your
time, develop a friendship with him; if things progress forward into
something more, then you’ll know. But for now, just be friends.” “As a friend, am I allowed
to gawk at him?” Tilting her head back, my
mom laughs, the sound a sweet memory of my childhood. “Only when he’s not looking,
sweetie.” 5.
Don’t let what happened in the past dictate
the way you react to someone in the present. … you already suffered your
loss. 6.
Small packages pack a big punch. 7.
I think it’s time you put your past
behind you and start living in the present, because if you don’t, you very
well might miss out on something incredibly special. 8.
I wont judge you. … if it’s on your
bucket list, then it means something to you. Who am I to judge what you want
to accomplish in your life? 9.
“Are you single, Ren?” Why is it the married women
who always ask that question? I swear it’s their mission in life to get
everyone married. 10.
… if you’re interested, I can take you
up there tomorrow, check it out. I’d like that, as long as
you don’t take me up there and murder me or something. … do you think I’m some
sort of serial killer? It’s always the nice guys,
the ones you would never think are serial killers, who actually turn out to
have tons of skeletons in their closets. 11.
When Reid checked in earlier to see how
we were doing, I thought it was odd, but then he said you were coming home
early and could help out. 12.
You’re all a bunch of assholes. Just remember
payback is a bitch. You wont know when it’s coming, but when it does, you’re
going to regret ever fucking with me. 13.
Holy shit, that’s my mom. 14.
He’s so good that he’s tried to make
sure he’s in the right headspace before pursuing anything with me. 15.
Helicopter tendencies 16.
It’s hard not to fall for a guy who
treats you like the most precious thing he’s ever laid eyes on. 17.
You have never looked happier, Ren,
which is all I want as a mother: for you to be happy. 18.
We wanted to make sure we were
financially ready before we got married. 19.
Hiding behind your past is never going
to get you anywhere in life, and you’re going to miss out on a lot. 20.
I love you, Griffin Knightly, and it
kills me that I’ll never truly know what it’s like to be loved by you. … I wish
you would just be brave and be with me, instead of sabotaging yourself, believing
a myth. There’s your curse … self-sabotage. It’s not about what the palm
reader said; it’s about you and what’s inside your head. And I can talk until
I’m blue in the face, but until you realize it yourself, it’s hopeless. 21.
But Ren was right; the only curse I’m
facing is self-sabotage, letting it take over every aspect of my life and
cutting myself off from one of the greatest things I’ve ever experienced: Ren’s
love. It isn’t until your
mind has matured that the weight of this curse will forever be cured. 22.
Tis better to have loved and lost than
never to have loved at all. |

to as the over part in over-parenting. It involves excessive levels of
involvement and control by parents in their children's lives. A motivation
for this parenting style is driven by the parents' worry that their child
might come to harm or not flourish. Source: News-Medical https://www.news-medical.net/health/What-is-Helicopter-Parenting-and-Why-is-it-Bad.aspx#:~:text=Helicopter%20parenting%20is%20often%20referred,to%20harm%20or%20not%20flourish. —————— เธ

I’m so happy for you, Griffin! Congratulations
on moving on! The party thrown for Griffin and Ren was epic, but it was warm
and sweet! The moral story is that one must not dwell on the past and
