2025/120 | ABBI GLINES - "FALLEN TOO FAR"

SYNOPSIS

To want what you’re not supposed to have…

She is only nineteen.

She is his new stepfather’s daughter.

She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.

But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…

Blaire just may have fallen too far.

READING EXPERIENCE

Blaire is such a considerate and compassionate girl—I really loved her character. There’s something deeply gracious about the way Blaire handled things—explaining herself not because she owed anyone an explanation, but because she cared how her actions might affect those around her. She understands boundaries and respect, which is rare to find. It’s been a while since I’ve read a character like her, and I truly appreciate it.

That said, the part where the entire town knows about Blaire’s past but no one tells her—that was just heartbreaking. And when Rush chose Nan over her? Absolutely devastating. I’m dying to know how they move past that.

But most importantly… can they both actually stay celibate while trying to find their way back to each other? God, I hope so. Please! I hate it when characters have flings during a breakup—even though, yes, they technically have every right to live their lives while single. It still hurts!

I first read this book about ten years ago, and I never forgot it (well, the title at least!)—it was my very first English romance novel. I'm so glad I decided to pick it up again, and just like last time, I couldn’t wait to dive into the next one.

Quote I love the most from this book:

Bethy, you’re beautiful. You deserve more than what you’re getting. Start shopping for a man somewhere else. Find one that doesn’t want you for sex. Find one that wants you. Just you.
