SYNOPSIS
Rush promised her forever... but promises can be broken.
Torn between his love for his family and his love for Blaire, Rush has to find a way to save one without losing the other. In the end one has to be more important. Letting go isn’t easy.
Blaire believed in her fairytale... but no one can live in a fantasy.
Her love for Rush and desire to have a family keep her believing that they can find a way for this to work. Until she has to make the right decision for her and the baby. Even if it breaks her heart.
Can they find the forever that they both want or has it all just gone... too far?
READING EXPERIENCE
Rush had always said he would put Blaire first, but time and again, he failed to follow through. The fact that he didn’t even think to call her shows that, deep down, she may not hold the place in his heart that he claims she does. Subconsciously, his priorities just don’t align with his words. And honestly? Blaire deserves so much more.
But then again, who am I to judge? If she feels like her best self when she’s with Rush, then maybe that’s enough—for her. Still, I’m relieved that things finally started to fall into place by the end.
That said, they’ve only been together for a short time. Can they really weather all the storms ahead? There are already cracks showing. For instance—Rush believing Nan’s lie about Blaire making hurtful comments toward her? Really? I expected better. I thought Rush knew Blaire well enough to see through Nan’s manipulations.
And honestly, if Rush did believe what Nan said, would he truly want someone like that—someone supposedly so “cruel”—to be the mother of his child? Come on.
On the flip side, Blaire asked herself if she could live without Rush. But I think the real question should be: can she live with always coming second to Nan? And if that’s the case, how long can she endure it before she breaks?
Also, I’m curious—when Abe moved out, did he and Georgianna actually get divorced? That part was left a little vague. I really hope they did, though.
Despite all the drama, I loved the warmth of the Christmas scenes. The atmosphere in the house was beautiful, and it was heartwarming to see the family slowly starting to care about each other more.
And finally, my favorite quote from the book:
"I love you, Rush Finlay. You are going to be the best husband and father the world has ever known. One day, our son’s wife will be thankful that her husband had you as a role model. She’ll be lucky because of you—because you raised our son to be the man that you are. He’ll love her completely, because he’ll know how."
