Synopsis
From USA Today bestselling author
Jennifer Sucevic comes a sexy, new standalone novel. Brayden Kendricks might be God’s gift
to the female species at Western University, but I want nothing to do with
the dark-haired football player. The guy is an attention seeking
you-know-what who soaks up fan adoration like it’s his due in life for being
hot and talented. Damn. Did I just say that? All right, fine...I’ll grudgingly admit
that Brayden is decent looking. I suppose if you’re into guys who resemble
Greek gods with abs of steel and chiseled pecs, then sure, one could consider
him attractive. Am I guilty of having a tiny,
practically non-existent crush on him freshman year? I’d prefer not to answer that question. Thankfully, I quickly came to my senses
and have made a concerted effort to steer clear of Brayden ever since. It
hasn’t been easy, considering that my bestie is now dating his roommate and
we’ve been thrown together for an accounting project. You’d think after years
of baring my teeth at him like a rabid dog, the guy would have gotten the
memo that I’m not interested. Apparently not, since he’s spreading
word around campus that we’re going out. I mean, can you even imagine? Me? Dating Brayden Kendricks? I have four words for him... No. Way. In. Hell. |

Quote(s)
1.
What I learned from that epic fail is
that sometimes it’s just not possible to make a relationship work – no matter
how much you both want it. 2.
Just when I think it’s safe to swoop in
for the kill, they’re back on again and sucking face right in front of me. 3.
I hope she would have enough
self-respect not to throw herself at a guy who has made it perfectly clear
that he’s not interested. 4.
Is there a reason you don’t want to
tell me? 5.
When you’re least expecting someone to
come into your life, that’s when it happens. 6.
There are plenty of guys on this campus
who would be thrilled to be with you. Do yourself a favor and don’t chase
after someone who can’t see how amazing you are. 7.
A few times, I’ve even been tempted to
quit. The problem is that the passion you carry around inside you doesn’t just
go away. It stays with you, searching for an escape route. Being creative isn’t
a choice. It’s a necessity. 8.
I’ve always been uncomfortable
accepting praise when it comes to my work. 9.
Snookums 10.
You neve know what’s going on in
someone else’s life. Just because they project a happy faรงade to the world,
doesn’t mean they aren’t splintering apart on the inside, barely able to hold
it together. 11.
Not only did we have to work our way
through the grief and loss, but we had to reconcile ourselves with the disastrous
decision he’d made. One that not only altered our family but someone else’s
as well. There is no way to wrap that up with a pretty bow. 12.
Talking about the situation won’t
change the outcome. 13.
For a brief moment, I’d considered
hooking up with one of the groupies who are always hanging around at the
house, but the thought of touching another girl turns my stomach. Plus, I don’t
want to do anything to fuck up our relationship if she changes her mind. Now,
if that doesn’t solidify my pathetic status, I don’t know what will. |

Reading Experience
I felt my heart constricted when I read about what happened to Peter. How I wished that there is wedding or proposal to Sydney. I am looking for a happily ever after with a definite answer. Anyway, I'm not sure if anyone would still get involved with the family member of the killer who killed their parent. I'm still happy that they talked things out and together. |
