DETAILS

Synopsis

Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

Quote(s)

1.    I absolutely loathed being late.

I hated for people to turn and stare, which they always did when you entered a classroom a minute after class started.

2.    Good luck and may the force of the universe be with you today.

3.    Suicide was never the answer and if anything, checking out was letting all of them win.

4.    I was back there, with his hands under my skirt, and I couldn’t breathe or see; the fabric of the couch rough against my cheek.

5.    Amazing how a look could feel like a touch and I felt it in a way that put my earlier edginess to shame.

6.    I was stunned. I’d always wondered if Blaine had done what he’d done to me to someone else and if my silence would enable him to do it again. I had hoped not – I’d prayed that wouldn’t be the case.

7.    “Oh, sweetheart.” Softness crept into voice and his stare. “We’ve all done stuff we aren’t proud of. It you knew…” he shook his head. “The point is, I don’t know why you did this. I just hope that whatever the reason was, it’s something that you’ve come to terms with. I don’t think any less of you because of it. I never did.”

8.    Things can’t be that bad if the sun is out and shining.

9.    What Cam had told me had been personal and no matter my curiosity over whether or not she knew, I wasn’t going to violate that trust between us.

10. “How can there be any future for us if you can’t be honest with me? If you can’t really trust that how I feel about you is strong enough, then we have nothing. This is the shit that ends relationships. Not the past, Avery, but the present.”

11. Who did I have to blame for that? Blaine? His parents? Mine? Did it matter? Never once did I stand up to my parents and tell them what I thought. I just shut up and took it – took it until I could run away.

Problem was, running away wasn’t working anymore. It never worked in the first place and how long did it take me to figure that out?

12. Never once did she think this was hard on us.

13. It just hadn’t happened overnight. Letting go had been a slow process that took a bitch slap in the face to figure out.

—————— เธ…՞• •՞เธ… ———————

(12)

You selfish a… You asked your daughter to shut up when you knew that she was raped! You even went out with the rapist’s family! You never once protect her!

Reading Experience

Honestly, this is quite interesting to read! I haven’t been able to read something so sweet for quite a while. The emotion, the feelings inside… were too real. I can imagine that while I read the story. And, the most important thing is that, the trust between Cam and Avery. Ahhh! How I wish the next book is about them! I wish to see them being married, have kids, and go on with their happily ever after~

Question(s)

1.    I still don’t understand, how she was being raped? By finger?

Three Most Important Concepts in This Book

1.    Trust, is one of the most important elements in a relationship.

2.    Your partner is a person that you can truly exposed yourself with.
